Frankfurt, the powerhouse of German business and the turntable of the ICE network, explore the Hbf, the Airport Station, Frankfurt Süd and the relatively recently opened Messe station.
RE to Wiesbaden and share the driver's view of the run from his cab (the full cabride is shown - duration 36 mins).Just across the Rhine is Mainz and we look at the rebuilt station and the new tunnels south to Mainz Rümisches Theater and onward towards Worms or back towards Frankfurt. We also have a quick look at the massive Opel factory at Rüsselsheim.
Our next instalment comes from the town of Lier near Antwerp in Belgium. We try some night filming at the station and some daytime filming on the line west of the station. This is line 15 the most important freight route in the country! After leaving Lier we follow Line 15 east to Diest and then to Vise where it has become line 24 -the Montzen line.
