It's an early start at Linz 0630 - still dark as we make our way to the Hbf and our Regional Express to Passau in Germany and it's raining! Our run is 24km over the Westbahn and a further 81km along side the rivers Pram and Inn between Wels and Passau. Even after leaving the Westbahn at Wels this is an important line probably the most important freight route between Austria and Germany and it's nearing the end of a comprehensive modernisation programme to raise speed and increase capacity. So there are lots of train passes but some quite substantial periods running in the rain - though visibility remains good as we have a nice clean windscreen! Narrated and filmed in High Definition.
